WHAT YOU'LL FIND
Johnsons Cottage is situated in the pretty and quiet village of Taddington. Taddington is perfectly situated between Bakewell and Buxton with easy access to many walks and places of interest.
​
Being on a main bus route, you can easily pop into Bakewell or Buxton with no worries about parking. 10 miles away you will find Chatsworth Estate with its beautiful gardens and grounds. Many Caverns are within easy reach from Poole's Cavern in Buxton to Blue John Cavern in the picturesque village of Castleton.
​
Whether you just fancy a stroll or an all-day hike, there are walks to suit everybody within the Peak District. You are able to walk from the cottage and join the Monsal Trail, or venture further afield and explore the Upper Derwent Valley.
​
No need to take your own bike there are plenty of bike hire centres, meaning you can access the Pennine Cycleway or the Trans Pennine Trail.
​
You will find the Queen's Arms Pub a short walk from the cottage and the nearest shop is 5 miles away.
Our cosy cottage, which retains many original features, is the perfect place to relax after a busy day exploring. You will find everything you need for a comfortable stay.
